A temporary local ceasefire has been established between Russia and Ukraine in the area of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant. This was reported by Reuters news agency, citing IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi.
According to the head of the IAEA, the parties agreed to suspend hostilities in this sector for several days.
The main goal of the pause is to enable emergency crews to carry out urgent repairs to power transmission lines that ensure the safety of the plant and the region.
The temporary ceasefire is intended to ensure the safety of technical personnel while performing work on damaged energy infrastructure facilities.
