Ayatollah Ali Khamenei plans to flee Iran to Moscow in case of force majeure
According to an intelligence report obtained by The Times newspaper, Iran's Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has a contingency plan: he may leave the country if security forces fail to suppress protests in Iran or begin to desert.

The 86-year-old Khamenei plans to flee Tehran accompanied by his closest entourage, consisting of 20 assistants and family members, the publication reports.
"Plan B is intended for Khamenei and his inner circle, including his son and presumed heir," an intelligence source told The Times.
One source told The Times that Khamenei plans to flee to Moscow, because "there is no other place for him."
"They have developed an escape plan from Tehran in case they have to flee," which involves "accumulating assets, property abroad, and cash to ensure a safe departure," the source said.
For the past two weeks, protests have been ongoing in Iran, triggered by economic difficulties. Protesters accuse riot police of using violent methods, including gunfire, tear gas, and water cannons, to suppress demonstrations.
