You can hug a capybara for 100 rubles at the animal park near Baranavichy
The Baranavichy capybara even has a groom. But he cannot be brought from South America because it's very expensive. However, visitors to the park can go on a "date" with the unusual animal.
The animal park near Baranavichy offers an interesting paid service — a date with its fluffy star, the capybara.
The capybara is the largest rodent in the world. Its body length is about 100-130 centimeters, height at the withers is 50-60 centimeters, and weight is usually 35-65 kilograms, but large individuals can reach 70-75 kilograms. To make it easier to imagine: a capybara is roughly the size of a fairly large dog, but with a more massive body and short legs.
A one-hour meeting costs one hundred rubles. For this amount, one to four people can attend the "date", plus an entrance ticket to the park itself must be purchased separately.
So, what's included in the "date" program? They promise that you can peacefully meet the capybara without a crowd nearby — pet it, feed it by hand, and take photos.
Such meetings are held four times daily.
By the way, the Baranavichy capybara's personal life is indeed quite sad. The animal park's website states: "Our fluffy queen is maturing... and getting sadder more often, because she needs a friend, a companion who will understand her with a glance and share treats with her."
The animal park team had long been searching for a reliable friend for the capybara — and they found a contender. However, the groom is located all the way in South America. And transporting him to Belarus costs a hefty 80 thousand rubles.
A fundraiser has now been launched to give the capybara a chance at simple female happiness. But so far, nothing has been donated for this.
Visitors to the park also have the opportunity to get acquainted with other animals. For example, a picnic with a llama costs 15 rubles, alpaca therapy — 7 rubles, lemur therapy — 20 rubles.
