The second stage of checking the level of combat and mobilization readiness of individual formations and military units is being carried out in the Armed Forces. For this purpose, military commissariats are conscripting military reservists for military drills to check mobilization readiness, said Lieutenant Colonel Yuri Hantsieuski, Deputy Head of the Main Organizational and Mobilization Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces.
«This type of drill has several peculiarities. The deadlines for military reservists to arrive at preliminary assembly points from the moment of receiving the summons are minimal and can be less than a day. The duration of this type of drill can be up to 60 days.
Yuri Hantsieuski added that the grounds for military reservists to be exempt from military drills are defined in Article 71 of the Law of the Republic of Belarus "On Military Duty and Military Service," as well as in Article 17 of the Law of the Republic of Belarus "On Mobilization Training and Mobilization."
In Article 71, in certain cases, in the presence of valid reasons and supporting documents, military commissars of districts and cities are granted the right to exempt military reservists from military drills for other reasons, the General Staff representative said.
He gave the following example: a minor child, while sledding, broke his arm. His mother is on a business trip at this time. The father, a military reservist, receives a summons to report for military drills. After submitting all supporting documents, the military commissar decided to exempt this military reservist from military drills.
