A resident of Brest came to the capital to pick up a "stash" in the forest. However, he didn't find the hiding spot and returned home, Minsk-news reports.
The next day, the seller sent him new geographical coordinates for the hiding spot — the man, in a state of alcoholic intoxication, again went to Minsk. After picking up the drug, he asked the taxi driver to take him to a pharmacy. There he bought syringes and liquid for injections, after which he diluted methadone and twice injected the resulting solution into his arm.
Next, he was going to return to Brest, but he suddenly felt unwell. The taxi driver, seeing the passenger unconscious, called an ambulance. At the hospital, among the man's personal belongings, 1.69 g of methadone and a syringe with a solution containing a narcotic substance were found.
A criminal case was initiated. He pleaded guilty to the crime he was charged with, repented, and explained that he used the prohibited substance to reduce pain from osteochondrosis, as medicines allegedly did not help him.
The trial took place: 2 years and 2 months in a correctional colony under a strict regime. In addition, he must undergo compulsory treatment for drug addiction.
