Mushroom seeds are now sold in Minsk stores. Do they really sprout?
An unusual product has started to be noticed in Belarus. Alongside cucumber and tomato seeds, mushrooms in the form of their seeds are appearing on shelves. Manufacturers promise harvests of porcini and chanterelles right in your garden beds. TikTok blogger Aliaksandr Harbatsevich investigated how true these promises are, writes Blizko.by.

Harbatsevich found a packet of mushroom mycelia in the capital's 'Materik' store. Their price started from 10.99 rubles.
The care recommendations and the image raised many questions for the blogger, so he decided to check the practical benefit of using such seeds. However, he didn't plant them in garden beds or the forest himself, but took them to the Academy of Sciences for analysis.
Грибные семена?! Боровики будут расти на грядках?!
The contents of the packet were examined under a microscope. No pieces of mycelium or mushroom spores were found in it. For clarity, the specialist showed the mycelia of a real mushroom and unequivocally stated — with such a packet, the real chance of growing porcini on your plot approaches zero.
