In Minsk, a passerby overheard a random woman's phone conversation and called the police
A resident of Minsk heard a woman talking on the phone with someone on the street. She looked confused and was hurrying somewhere.
The man found this suspicious and called the 102 line, according to the press service of the Minsk police.
The police identified the 67-year-old pensioner. She was indeed talking to scammers and, at their request, had already managed to leave 24,000 rubles in the house's basement.
Incidentally, before this, she had been called by fake employees of "Enerhosbyt" who, under the guise of replacing meters, obtained her personal data and an SMS code. They then threatened the pensioner with prison and persuaded her to "declare" her savings.
The scammers did not manage to get hold of the Minsk resident's money — it was confiscated by operatives and will be returned to its owner.
