The reasons for the closure are not specified in the announcement. Previously, in February 2021, the institute passed state accreditation, the term of which expires on March 9, 2026. It is likely that the IPP was unable to obtain new accreditation.
In the summer of 2024, the university had already announced that it would not be accepting first-year students, as the Ministry of Education had not approved the enrollment. At that time, it was emphasized that the institution would continue to operate. Now, however, the closure has been specifically announced.
IPP trained specialists in economics, management, and political science. Students, according to previous practice when private universities closed, could continue their studies at other institutions with personal consent or the consent of their legal representatives.
In recent years, some private universities have already closed in Belarus, and the number of such institutions is gradually decreasing.
In 2024, two private universities in the country ceased operations: BIP — University of Law and Social Information Technologies and the Institute of Entrepreneurial Activity.
Until 2026, five private higher education institutions remained in Belarus: besides IPP, these were the International University "MITSO" (Minsk, with branches in Gomel and Vitebsk), the Belarusian Trade and Economic University of Consumer Cooperation (Gomel), the Institute of Modern Knowledge named after A. M. Shirokov (Minsk), and the International Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship (Minsk).
