Lion cubs rescued from a private zoo in Dagestan may go to Belarus

Lion cubs brought from Dagestan to a shelter in the Volgograd region may go to a zoo in Belarus. This was announced by Anzhela Makarova, director of the «Dina» animal protection fund and shelter.
«We cooperate with the Eurasian Association of Zoos and Aquariums (EARAZA), and they have already shown interest in the lion cubs. They reported that there is a request from Belarus, from the Minsk Zoo. There are generally very good zoos there. And if someone is ready to take them, we will only be happy», — Makarova told TASS agency.
She noted that the lion cubs, of course, must undergo quarantine, regain their strength, and only after adaptation will it be possible to consider transferring the animals to other zoos.
Five lion cubs have been brought to the Volgograd animal shelter, which were confiscated from a private zoo in Dagestan by court order due to poor living conditions.
