President of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian held a telephone conversation with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. During the conversation, he stated that Iran was not involved in the shelling of Nakhchivan on March 5, according to Ilham Aliyev's press service.

The Iranian president promised to investigate this incident and thanked Azerbaijan for its intention to provide humanitarian aid to Iran.
In turn, Ilham Aliyev expressed condolences regarding the death of a large number of civilians in Iran.
