Journalist Pavel Dabravolski sentenced to 9 years in prison

Journalist Pavel Dabravolski has been sentenced to 9 years of imprisonment in a correctional colony under strict regime conditions. The decision was made by the Minsk City Court. The trial was closed, writes Pozirk.

Dabravolski was detained in Minsk on January 22, 2025, 10 days after his 35th birthday. He was accused of "treason against the state."

According to available information, the accusation was related to the journalist's professional activities during mass protests against the falsification of the results of the 2020 presidential elections. According to the Belarusian Association of Journalists, at least 28 employees of domestic media are held in captivity.
