A fire occurred today in an apartment in a five-story building on Bohdanava Street in Gomel.
When rescuers arrived at the scene, smoke was coming from the window of the apartment on the fifth floor.
Firefighters extinguished the fire, but it was too late. In the apartment, they found the deceased: the 65-year-old apartment owner and his 68-year-old wife.
The cause of the incident is being established. One of the versions is careless handling of fire while smoking.
