On May 4, Pope Leo XIV received Archbishop Ignazio Ceffalia, the Apostolic Nuncio to Belarus, in an audience.
As reported by the Vatican press service, "this visit is part of a regular dialogue between the Pope and his representatives, allowing the Holy Father to keep abreast of developments in various regions of the world."
The meeting is a testament that the joys and concerns of Belarusian faithful remain at the center of the Pope's attention, and the nuncio's efforts receive support at the highest level.
Archbishop Ceffalia has served as Nuncio to Belarus since spring 2025 – his appointment took place on March 25, 2025. A native of Palermo, Italy, he has extensive experience working in international structures, having been in the Holy See's diplomatic service since 2006.
