Now, budget funds will primarily be directed towards the purchase of seeds produced and grown within the country. Thus, the authorities are focusing on developing their own seed base.
However, exceptions are provided. State support will remain for those types of seeds that are not yet sufficiently produced in Belarus. In particular, this applies to alfalfa, corn, and some vegetable crops.
Previously, support was provided in the form of preferential loans and direct budget payments. In 2026, it was planned to allocate about 26.9 million rubles from local budgets for these purposes, but now these funds will be reallocated considering the new rules.
