The territory of an unsold historical estate in the Senno district has been turned into a dump
In the Senno district, unsuccessful attempts continue to sell the old Belitsa estate, which has the status of a second-category historical and cultural value. However, the situation has now worsened: the prosecutor's office found that the territory of the former estate has turned into a dump. Household waste and wood debris have accumulated there, writes Orsha.eu.
The estate is located in the agrotown of Polymia and was built in the early 19th century in the style of late classicism. Its last owners were the noblemen Svyatski. All buildings of the complex are considered historical and cultural monuments of the 18th century. This place gained special significance also because Yanka Kupala worked there in 1903-1904.
Despite the historical value of the estate, its condition remains neglected, and the territory is not maintained in proper order.
The prosecutor's office also identified other problems related to the protection of historical heritage in the district. Protective signs are missing on eight archaeological sites, which have the status of third-category values. This indicates that the requirements for the preservation of historical and cultural objects are being ignored not only by individuals but also by local authorities.
