Former serviceman from Brest, who returned from Poland, accused of "terrorism" and sent to a penal colony
62-year-old Brest resident Aliaksandr Rudchyk was arrested for "terrorism" and participation in an armed conflict. In recent years, the man lived in Poland, but for some reason returned to his homeland, where he ended up behind bars. Only former veterans of the Kalinouski Regiment — Vasil Verameichyk, Vasil Hrachykha, and Maksim Ralko — were tried under similar articles.

Aliaksandr Rudchyk was born on April 3, 1964, in Skovorodino, Amur Region, Russia, not far from the border with China. In 1985, he graduated from the Military Financial and Economic Institute of the Russian Ministry of Defense and then served as a lieutenant in Tynda (Amur Region).
According to BelPol data, the man lived in Belarus for many years and since 2003 worked as an auditor as an individual entrepreneur. He closed his sole proprietorship at the end of 2019. It is known that since early 2021, the man has been a widower.
On social networks, Aliaksandr did not hide his anti-Putin and anti-Lukashenka views.
Since 2022, the man had been living outside Belarus. As late as spring 2025, he was publishing photos from Poland. But later, Rudchyk ended up in Belarus for unknown reasons.

Recently, the Brest Regional Court passed a verdict on Aliaksandr. He was found guilty under several articles of the Criminal Code, including creation of a criminal organization (Part 2 of Article 285), participation in terrorist activities (Article 290-3, Part 2 of Article 290-4), and participation in an armed conflict on the territory of a foreign state (Part 1 of Article 361-3).
It is notable that only veterans of the Kalinouski Regiment — Vasil Verameichyk, Vasil Hrachykha, and Maksim Ralko — were tried under these articles. Whether Aliaksandr Rudchyk fought is unknown.
He faced up to twenty years in a penal colony.
The exact verdict is unknown, but the man is now in a penal colony.
