A new city sculpture has appeared in Minsk — with a fisherman, hunter, cat, and dog
Minsk now has one more city sculpture. At Lahoiski Trakt, 5, near the building of the Belarusian Society of Hunters and Fishermen, the composition "Meeting of Friends" was unveiled, reports the Smartpress publication.

Without knowing the context, one might think that it's just a company of old acquaintances: a fisherman, a hunter, a cat, and a dog gathered somewhere after a successful day. But the sculpture also has a symbolic meaning. For example, the dog is a Belarusian Hound, the only national breed of Belarus. Moreover, it's cast in bronze for the first time.
The figures of the hunter, fisherman, and cat are collective images without specific prototypes.

The height of the composition together with the pedestal is 2 meters 15 centimeters, and its width is more than three meters. The authors of the sculpture are Kaciaryna Zantaryja and Palina Bahdanava, the project architect is Jury Hradau.
The unveiling was timed to coincide with the 105th anniversary of the Belarusian Society of Hunters and Fishermen. Representatives of relevant departments, including Minister of Forestry Vital Kulik, attended the ceremony.
