It became known how many companion animals Belarusians have registered
Over 132 thousand companion animals have been registered in Belarus. This was reported by Nadezhda Seuruk, Deputy Head of the Housing Department of the Ministry of Housing and Communal Services of Belarus.

The majority of registered pets are dogs: there are more than 80 thousand of them. However, according to the specialist, this does not mean that there are fewer cats in Belarus. It simply means that cat owners are probably less informed about the need to register animals.
Dog owners usually provide all necessary information during registration. This includes reporting cases where a dog belongs to breeds that require special responsibility from the owner, for example, due to their large size or potentially aggressive behavior.
Over the past four years, the number of registered companion animals in Belarus has increased by approximately 50 thousand. In 2021-2022, there were about 70 thousand, and now there are already over 132 thousand.
