On Ukraine's Independence Day, Kyiv held a military robot parade — on land, in water, and in the air VIDEO
On Khreshchatyk in Kyiv, an unusual "new generation parade" was held for Ukraine's Independence Day — instead of military personnel, a column of ground-based robotic systems, used by Ukrainian servicemen at the front, drove along the city's central street, writes Hromadske.
During the celebrations, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that after the war ends, Ukraine could become a true security donor for its partners, Europe, and other states that have supported the country. According to him, the parade showcased technologies with which Ukraine protects the lives of its people.
Ground robots "Rys PRO" and "Termit," designed for logistical, evacuation, and combat tasks, drove along Khreshchatyk. Such systems can transport ammunition, water, and food, as well as help evacuate the wounded. Simultaneously, operators demonstrated Ukrainian drones, including the P1-Sun interceptor drone.
In addition to ground-based equipment, surface unmanned systems "Magura", Sea Baby, and "Sargan" were also shown. Thus, the organizers wanted to emphasize the development of Ukrainian military technologies on land, in water, and in the air.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported that since the beginning of 2026, ground-based robotic systems have already completed more than 100,000 missions. They were engaged in delivering necessary cargo and evacuating the wounded. In July, the number of such tasks reached almost 20,000 compared to 7,500 in January.
The Ministry of Defense has already contracted more than 22,000 ground robots. In addition, since the beginning of the year, Ukrainian servicemen have ordered such equipment through Brave1 Market for almost 1.9 billion hryvnias (about 42.5 million dollars).
The ministry emphasized that the use of robotics allows for reducing risk to military personnel, as machines can perform some dangerous tasks instead of humans.
