Russian Court Recognized UPA, OUN, and Bandera as "Accomplices of Nazi Germany"

In addition to Bandera, several other individuals were recognized as "accomplices of Nazi Germany."

The Tverskoy District Court of Moscow recognized the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA), the associated Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN), as well as ten figures of the Ukrainian nationalist movement, including OUN leader Stepan Bandera and UPA commander Roman Shukhevych, as "accomplices of Nazi Germany in crimes against humanity during the Great Patriotic War." This was reported by the General Prosecutor's Office of Russia.

The agency stated that "this decision is of great importance for honoring the memory of genocide victims, debunking the illegal actions of the Kyiv regime, canceling decisions on the rehabilitation of war criminals, and stopping acts of extremism against Russia."

In addition to Bandera and Shukhevych, Vasyl Bandera, Andriy Melnyk, Mykola Arsenych, Taras Borovets (Bulba), Dmytro Klyachkivsky, Mykola Kozak, Myron Matviyko, and Yaroslav Stetsko were recognized as "accomplices of Nazi Germany."

UPA and OUN were previously recognized as "extremist" organizations in Russia, and in 2024, the Russian Ministry of Justice included them in the so-called list of "Nazi" organizations.
