US President Donald Trump told reporters on September 9 that "hatred between Zelenskyy and Putin prevents" the signing of a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine, Reuters writes .

Trump confirmed an August 8 report about a conversation with the Russian president and said he had an "excellent" talk with him.
“We had a great conversation. He wants to make a deal, and if Zelenskyy also wants to make a deal, that would be good,” Trump said.
The main obstacle to the start of the peace process, according to him, remains the personal animosity between Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
“These are two people who hate each other,” Trump said.
Trump's conversation with Putin took place after the completion of the mission of American special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. They had previously visited Moscow and Kyiv as part of a US diplomatic mission aimed at resuming negotiations to end the war.
