What was discussed at the meeting?

Dzianis Kuchynski, Director of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya's Vilnius Office, held a meeting with special envoys and representatives of the Nordic-Baltic Eight (NB8) countries, who arrived in Vilnius for a special visit to consult with Belarusian democratic forces and partners based in Lithuania, according to the democratic leader's press service.
Among the topics of the meeting was the issue of political prisoners.
Dzianis Kuchynski thanked Lithuania for receiving and supporting released political prisoners and Belarusians residing in the country. The meeting discussed the situation of political prisoners and support for those who are released.
Also discussed were support for Belarusians abroad, regional security, and the issue of the International Humanitarian Fund.
All countries represented at the meeting have already joined the Fund's work. Further financing was also discussed: for several countries, the next contributions will be their second, and for some, already their third.
«It is very important for us that countries continue to work with democratic forces through the institution of special envoys. This format allows for maintaining a constant dialogue and coordinating joint actions. As long as repression continues in Belarus and political prisoners remain behind bars, it is especially important to maintain a unified and coordinated position and support for Belarusians,» commented Dzianis Kuchynski.
