The Author of "Ballad of the Dictator" is now vacationing in Paris

Composer Valer Shmat is so devoted to Lukashenka that he even wrote music for the "Ballad of the Dictator". It was presented in 2024. During a patriotic forum in honor of National Unity Day, the art group "Belarusians" (founded by Shmat) surprised Lukashenka and sang the ballad to him.

It contains the following lines: "Страна — его альма-матер с ароматом свежего хлеба. Улыбнется спокойно диктатор, глядя в родины мирное небо" (The country is his alma mater with the aroma of fresh bread. The dictator will smile calmly, looking at the peaceful sky of his homeland).

Shmat is an active supporter of Lukashenka and periodically receives bonuses from the regime. For instance, in 2014 he received the Francysk Skaryna Medal, and in 2019 — the "For Contribution to the Development of Belarusian Culture" badge. The group "Belarusians" participates in state events.

However, Valer Shmat, together with his wife Alesia Kuzniatsova (she is the general director of the Musical Production Center "Golden Voices"), is currently enjoying a vacation in the very European Union where "order cannot be tolerated."

A few days ago, the composer boasted on Instagram that they were in Milan and attended a creative meeting at the famous La Scala theater. Now the couple is in Paris — walking through Montmartre and looking at Paris from the heights of Sacré-Cœur.

But it wasn't without incident. The family traveled to the capital of France by train: "We are in France for the first time, but the task seemed clear: get to the apartment and check in. And that's where everything started. The hostess writes: after the previous guest, there's a flood in the apartment, and the whole apartment is filled with water. No, we certainly discussed a pool. But in Minsk, after the trip — and definitely not in the booked apartments. We are going, not knowing if there will be a place to stay tonight, listening to announcements in an unfamiliar language and reassuring ourselves: we still have to get off at the final station. And suddenly the tone of the announcements changes. The whole carriage stands up and starts to exit. And we don't understand a single word."

An unknown young man helped the Belarusians, explaining in English: the train won't go any further — there's a train incident. So, they had to get off in some town, find a bus, then transfer again and get to Paris.

Of course, the entire train couldn't fit into the first bus. But the European didn't abandon the Belarusian composer in distress: "Christian, a programmer working in Paris, traveled almost the entire route with us and guided us to the center. Along the way, he explained how public transport works, where to buy tickets, how to check platforms, and why it's better to hold bags in front of you. Thank you, Christian! It was very unexpected to immediately receive such help in an unfamiliar city."

After that, the husband and wife found new accommodation and began to enjoy their vacation in the most romantic city in the world.

Shmat writes that Paris is very beautiful. And Belarusian propagandists, for example, ONT presenter Maryna Karaman, are liking his posts.
