In Białystok, the book «Cemeteries of Belarusians of Podlachia» by researcher, Master of Cultural Heritage Protection Volha Siamashka was published.

This 700-page edition is richly illustrated with almost 400 illustrations and photographs. The monograph describes more than 30 cemeteries: Orthodox, Catholic, Jewish, Tatar, and others. Through the symbolism and decoration of graves, inscriptions, and interviews with people, the author seeks an answer to what extent the Podlachian cemeteries described in the book can be considered Belarusian, writes Radio «Racyja».
«This book is not only a scientific study but also a bridge of memory connecting the Belarusians of Podlachia (autochthons) with the Belarusian diaspora coming to live in the region. It shows how the memory of ancestors and burial places becomes the foundation of culture and identity,» explains the author.
The book «Cemeteries of Belarusians of Podlachia» was published by a Białystok publisher, thanks to private donations from Podlachian residents and a crowdfunding campaign.
