Polotsk enterprise produces 'combat-tested' ZoV bulletproof vests

Threads users drew attention to the body armor vests. ZoV products are indeed presented in the catalog on the official «POLSPO» website. According to the manufacturer's description, the vest is designed to protect against firearms and shrapnel, as well as to reduce contusion injuries that may occur when a bullet strikes the armor plate.

The ceramic armor panels of the vest, it is claimed, provide protection for vital organs according to class Br5. The manufacturer itself does not explain the origin of the name ZoV, however, the combination of letters Z and V is widely used as a symbol of the Russian war against Ukraine.

In Russia, the body armor vest is sold through the website polspo-russia.ru. It lists contacts in Saint Petersburg and the production address in Polotsk. However, the website is legally registered to a Russian individual entrepreneur.

The ZoV set includes the body armor vest itself, Br5 armor plates manufactured by «POLSPO», a protective belt, groin protection, and a set of pouches. The seller claims that the product has undergone combat testing. As confirmation, feedback from a drone unit is provided, whose fighters, after prolonged use in difficult field conditions, allegedly called the vest one of the best in its class.

The Russian website also states that the set is certified according to the Russian standard GOST 34286-2017, and production complies with technical specifications BY 391615915.016-2022, registered in 2022. The price of the body armor vest is 115,000 Russian rubles — approximately 1,400 dollars.

«POLSPO»'s cooperation with the Russian market has been known for several years. In October 2022, the district newspaper «Polotski Vestnik» reported that almost half of the company's products are used in Belarus and Russia, and ballistic tests are conducted in a Russian certification center. According to the publication, armor protection from Polotsk is used by Belarusian internal troops, the army, the Investigative Committee, Lukashenka's Security Service, and the KGB.

At the enterprise itself, the ZoV body armor vest is called one of their main achievements. In 2024, «POLSPO» employee Alexander Skaradzyonak told the publication «SB. Belarus Segodnya» that the product has the highest class of protection and is a novelty for the Belarusian market.

Among the advantages of the vest, he noted its modular design: the set can be supplemented with groin protection, a collar, and shoulder pads. Armor panels can be quickly removed and replaced directly in field conditions, and the vest itself can be detached with a single hand movement.
