Which performances were named the best in Belarus? The results of the National Theatre Awards have been announced.
The award ceremony for the winners of the VIII Republican competition of theatrical art "National Theater Award" took place at the Kupala Theater, writes Minsk-News.

The jury and the audience evaluated 37 productions from theaters in Minsk, Brest, Vitebsk, Gomel, Grodno, Mogilev, Molodechno, and Bobruisk.


Minister of Culture Ruslan Chernetsky emphasized that the ceremony celebrates the best of the best, and the quality of the submitted performances is getting higher.
— The National Theater Award is becoming increasingly important not only for theatergoers, professionals in the theater community, but also for the audience, — Chernetsky assured.

According to the jury's decision, the best performance for children and youth was "The Smart Dog Sonya" by the Belarusian State Puppet Theater, the best puppet theater performance was "Bach-Bach-Bach" by the Mogilev Regional Puppet Theater.


The production of the National Academic Drama Theater named after M. Gorky "Faust. A Deal with the Devil" based on Goethe's tragedy won in the nomination "Best Drama Theater Performance for the Big Stage".
The "Towers of the Molodechno Castle" by the Minsk Regional Drama Theater was recognized as the best drama theater performance for the small stage.

The best opera performance was "Eugene Onegin", and the best ballet performance was "Cinderella" by the Bolshoi Theater of Belarus.
The operetta "The Beautiful Helen" by the Belarusian State Academic Musical Theater won in the nomination "Best Performance in the Genre of Operetta, Musical Comedy, Musical".


The special prize for contribution to the development of theatrical art of Belarus was awarded to the chief artist of the National Academic Theater named after Yanka Kupala, Boris Gerlovan.


The artistic director of the Youth Variety Theater, Vladislava Artyukovskaya, won in the nomination "Best Work of a Playwright in a Drama Theater Performance" for the production "Without Statute of Limitations".


The best work of a director in a musical performance (Sergei Mikel) and the best work of a conductor in a musical performance (Marina Tretyakova) for the ballet "Kupalye" were noted.
