When asked by journalists whether it is known when the family will be able to meet Maria, Tatsiana answered in the negative.
"Now we will also find out when [they] will be able to reach us, [how exactly it] will be. In fact, for now, it's not very clear," she said.
According to Kalesnikava's sister, the released individuals were taken to Ukraine spontaneously. And all this so that they "could not be met here [in Lithuania]".
"But I think the most important thing is that they are free. And this [their transfer to Ukraine] is already a less important, secondary issue. We've been waiting for them for so many years, and we'll figure this out," Khomich is confident.
Even before it became known that the political prisoners would be taken to Ukraine, Tatsiana told "Zerkalo" about her first conversation with her sister in many years.
"It was short. Masha, of course, was very happy to see me. She said she loves me, sends greetings to everyone. And she thanked the efforts of the USA, President Trump, and the Belarusian side for these negotiations, for the opportunity to be free. She is very happy about this. She eagerly awaits to see all of us, to hug us. Therefore, I was immensely happy to see her smile," Khomich described.
Maria Kalesnikava looked well, her sister added. And she herself is very much looking forward to a meeting, for which she fought for many years.
