On November 22, 31 citizens of Ukraine were pardoned. As known to Viasna human rights defenders, among them, only ten were detained and convicted for political reasons.

Nadzeya Nikalayuk
Earlier, the release of five political prisoners was reported: 18-year-old Mariya Misiuk, sentenced to 13 years in a penal colony; Mikhail Staliarchuk, sentenced to six years of imprisonment for "agent activities"; Lidziya Hruk, detained and convicted along with her husband, who remained behind bars in Belarus; Aliaksandr Katovich, sentenced to five years in a penal colony for comments; Anastasiya Kashchyna, convicted in the "Hayun case".
Now human rights defenders have learned that on November 22, five more citizens of Ukraine, detained in Belarus for political reasons, were also released: Siarhei Kuzmich, Aliaksandr Kryvich, Nadzeya Nikalayuk, Kasyan Kulikouski, Sviatlana Mironava.
Previously, Viasna was only aware of the political persecution of Nadzeya Nikalayuk.
Nadzeya was held in the Akrestsin detention center in a deportation cell for 57 days — at that time, the woman already had stage three oncology. Nadzeya was accused of agent activities and transmitting data to Ukraine. Before her detention, she worked at "Brest Bakery". She had lived in Belarus for 20 years with a residence permit.
