One of the political prisoners taken to Ukraine turned out to be a teacher from Hlybokaye

In February 2025, Alena was sentenced to two years in a penal colony under articles on inciting hatred and for "calls for actions against national security".

Alena is 30 years old, she is from Hlybokaye. In 2019, she graduated from Minsk State Linguistic University. Later, she worked as an English teacher in various private schools — Step by Step, Kidslab, and others.

The girl was tried in the Minsk City Court. Alena Badzyaka was accused under two criminal articles — "inciting hatred" (Part 1, Art. 130 of the Criminal Code) and "calls to inflict harm on Belarus" (Part 3, Art. 361 of the Criminal Code).
