According to the traffic police (DAI), residents of Rechytsa were clearing snow near their private homes and in their yards, throwing it onto the roadway. Inspectors deemed such actions dangerous and referred to Article 22.10 of the Code of the Republic of Belarus on Administrative Offenses.
According to the first part of this article, obstructing streets, squares, courtyards, and other public lands with building materials or other objects is punishable by a fine of up to five basic units (225 rubles).
The second part of the article provides for a fine of up to 25 basic units (1125 rubles) for non-compliance with duties regarding the cleaning and maintenance of plots, including those adjacent to private land plots.
Thus, Belarusians should remember: snow must be cleared to avoid falling under the second part of the article, but it must be done correctly to avoid violating the first part.
From 2025, motorists will also be obliged to clear snow from parking spaces within a one-meter radius around their cars. Throwing snow onto the roadway is prohibited — it is better to use lawns or other non-conflict zones.
