Three customs officers, tried for treason against the state, received lengthy sentences
They were accused under eight articles of the Criminal Code, including treason against the state, participation in an "extremist formation," and inciting hatred, according to Dissident.by.

Chief customs inspector Yauhen Hurynovich was sentenced to 13.5 years of imprisonment, Viktar Novik — to 13 years, Uladzimir Zhuromski — to 12 years. The trial took place in 2024.
Hurynovich, Zhuromski, and Novik were detained in 2022. During the detention, Hurynovich was beaten and his back was seriously injured. After this, he could not walk for a long time, moving in a wheelchair and with the help of crutches. Due to severe pain, he was sent to a hospital in Kaliadzichy several times. The pain was so intense that Hurynovich fell to the floor and could not get up on his own. Doctors initially refused to recognize him as disabled for a long time, but eventually, the Mahilioŭ hospital confirmed that the pain had objective causes. Hurynovich officially received a disability.
He is currently held in penal colony No. 15. The administration forces him to attend exercises and work using crutches.
