In early autumn, passers-by noticed a young man intentionally harming birds near a shopping center. Witnesses called the police.
The young man later explained that he was deeply upset by criticism from a driving school instructor and decided to vent all his aggression in such an unconventional way.
He twisted the necks of two birds, threw others into the air, kicked them, and then stomped on them. As a result, the pigeons died.
It was also known that the student led a reclusive lifestyle, was lonely, and had difficulties in communication. However, the young man himself did not notice any problems.
A criminal case was initiated under Art. 339‑1 Part 1 («Cruelty to animals»). The sentence is one and a half years of restricted liberty at home.
