A Belarusian woman found a rare fruit in a store, but its seeds are familiar to everyone
The girl's post quickly sparked a lively discussion.

A Belarusian woman noticed an unusual exotic fruit — a cocoa pod — on the shelf of a supermarket. Such products are rarely found for sale in our latitudes, so the customer was confused and decided to ask Threads users how to eat it. The post quickly sparked a lively discussion, writes Onliner.by.
The photo, which the woman published on the social network, shows that the fruit was brought from Ecuador and is sold at a price of 51.99 rubles per kilogram.
"Does anyone know how to eat fresh cocoa?" she asked her subscribers. Users explained that the cocoa fruit is not only the source of the familiar powder.
The fruit itself outwardly resembles an elongated melon and comes in various colors.
It is cut lengthwise: inside are seeds (cocoa beans) and jelly-like pulp. It is the pulp that is eaten — it is usually sucked like a candy or a berry, and the seeds are not chewed.
Some commentators shared personal experiences and told how to independently obtain cocoa from the seeds: the beans need to be washed, dried, and processed.
According to other participants in the discussion, the taste of the pulp is sweet and sour and resembles ascorbic acid. The comments also clarified that the fruit was spotted in one of the "Evroopt" stores.
