Maryna Zolatava on convicted Volha Chukarava with a stroke, who went blind in a penal colony: They told her: "How did you get here? Are you faking it?"
And she learned to move by touch.

Volha Chukarava
Chief editor of Tut.by, ex-political prisoner Maryna Zolatava described the story of convicted Volha Chukarava in her Facebook post.
"The second month of the Year of the Belarusian Woman has ended. March is coming soon. There, the Belarusian Women's Year and International Women's Day will meet.
This is Volha Chukarava. 50 years old. Worked as an accountant in a complex aviation field.
She received 4 years under two articles — 361‑1 (creation of an extremist formation or participation in it) and 369 (insulting a government official).
Volha was detained in autumn 2024. She suffered a stroke in the pre-trial detention center. She went blind. Completely. In the colony's quarantine, however, there were "clever people" who didn't believe her: "How did you get up then? How did you get here? You're faking it."
But Volha tried not to complain. Even when her blood pressure was 210 (you remember about the stroke, right?). She only asked to be taught how to move more easily by touch. She learned.
After quarantine, she spent a couple of days in the squad. Then she was sent to the medical unit. She was taken for examinations. According to rumors, another unpleasant diagnosis appeared.
Her teenage daughter is in a boarding school, her son is in the army, her mother is a first-group invalid, bedridden. Who is looking after her now is unknown.
Yes. (After all, amidst everything else, this is probably just a trifle) — Volha is on the list of terrorists. Accordingly, money transfers are forbidden for her.
"This is the story of a Belarusian woman," Maryna Zolatava wrote.
