After the completion of the reconstruction, the building will house a local museum, which currently operates on another street in the city. A registry office (ZAGS department) is also planned to be opened in the former orangery of the palace.
The reconstruction project has already received support from the regional leadership. After the opening of the renovated museum, new exhibitions are planned, including one dedicated to the Tyszkiewicz family, which played a significant role in the history of Volozhin.
The palace of Count Józef Tyszkiewicz was built in the early 19th century in the Neoclassical style. The complex consists of several buildings, including the main manor house, an outbuilding, and an orangery, rebuilt in 1926. The building is located on the high bank of the Volozhinka River.
Authorities believe that the project should promote tourism development and become part of a new cultural and historical route in the region. Previously, the Tyszkiewicz Palace housed various administrative institutions.
