"Drahichyn Sea": The city flooded in places where snow was not cleared earlier

Drahichyn after the thaw turned into a "city on water": streams overflowed in the streets. Residents joke that boats are needed instead of buses, writes BGmedia.

Since the end of February, a thaw began throughout Belarus after severe frosts. For February 27-28, in Brest, for example, temperatures are promised up to 8-10 degrees Celsius, which significantly eases life for residents after long cold spells.

This warming also affected other cities in the region, such as Drahichyn, where local residents fully experienced the consequences of the thaw. Some streets of the city, where snow was not properly cleared and removed, turned into continuous rivers, causing difficulties for pedestrians and motorists.

Videos and photos from various impassable streets of the city began to appear on TikTok. Places near Secondary School No. 1, the city stadium, and near shops were particularly prominent, where water remained for several days and significantly hampered movement.

In the comments under the videos, people do not hide their irony and even indignation, noting that sometimes it would be better to travel by boat on the city streets.
