The Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade (MART) of Belarus conducted inspections of flower sales on the eve of March 8 and found many violations, the agency's press service reported .

Employees of MART, local authorities, police, and tax inspectorates participated in the inspections. Across the country, 28 trade facilities and 35 trade platforms were inspected, where 148 individuals and 38 business entities operated.
During the inspections, two cases were identified where flowers were sold under documents issued to other persons. In total, 35 recommendations were issued for the elimination of violations.
Among the most common problems were the absence of some goods from the mandatory assortment list and insufficient information for buyers. Often at sales points, the name of the product, its country of origin, and price were not indicated.
In addition, in some cases, flowers were sold at facilities not entered in the trade register.
Previously, flowers were included in the list of goods for which surcharges were limited according to Resolution No. 713. Later, they were excluded from this list. Currently, a rule on permissible monthly price increases is in effect. In March, it should not exceed 2.5 percent compared to December last year.
