Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya named Belarusian women who became an example for her

Belsat asked Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya if there are Belarusian women who particularly influenced her or whom she considers important examples for the country?
— Of course, many Belarusian women have influenced me. These are not necessarily those who can be called an example for the whole country, but for me personally — yes. By their actions, their humanity. For example, Grandma Anya (Hanna Kanavalava). When her grandchildren's parents ended up in prison, she first took them in to raise, and then also other children whose parents had problems. For me, this is an example of responsibility and love.
Marharyta Liauchuk also made a great impression on me — with her energy, openness, and positivity. Katsiaryna Snytsina also inspires: her initiative to play basketball united people and created a community.
In general, I am very inspired by people who do not give up: Iryna Maclean, Halina Kazimiroŭskaja from "Volny Chor" (Free Choir), Katsia Andreeva, Natallia Pinchuk — it's impossible to list them all.
Therefore, it's probably better to say this: I am inspired by all Belarusian women who, despite difficulties, do not despair and continue to do their work, — answered Tsikhanouskaya.
Tsikhanouskaya noted that there are so many outstanding women in our history and present day that any list would be unfair.
— Questions will always arise: why her specifically? Why was another one forgotten? — says Sviatlana.
It is important for her, she says, to recognize the contribution of each one.
— All Belarusian women are very different, and this cannot but captivate. And I would really like each one to understand how cool, interesting, talented, and unique she is, — says Tsikhanouskaya.
