Villager from Chausy district died after accidentally swallowing antifreeze

The incident occurred during car repair.

A 69-year-old man accidentally took several sips of antifreeze, according to the State Committee of Forensic Examinations.

This happened in the evening. He did not seek medical attention, but the next morning he felt unwell: abdominal pain, shortness of breath, nausea, and vomiting appeared.

The villager was taken to a hospital in Mogilev. Despite the provided assistance, he could not be saved. He died on the fifth day, while in a coma.

«According to the research results, the state forensic medical expert concluded that death occurred from acute renal failure, which developed as a result of acute oral poisoning with ethylene glycol,» — reported the State Committee of Forensic Examinations.
