A 27-year-old resident of Maladziečna, who was searching for military artifacts, found a real live RG-42 grenade from World War II in the forest. He put the find in his backpack and took it home on an electric train. Expertise showed: the grenade was functional.

A love for collecting items found with a metal detector turned into criminal liability for a 27-year-old resident of Maladziečna, writes "Minskaya Pravda".
According to the investigation, on the afternoon of October 12 last year, in search of metal objects from the Great Patriotic War, the Maladziečna resident went into the forest near the agro-town of Kuranets, Vileyka district. With a metal detector, he discovered an old grenade in the ground.
The man did not report the dangerous find to law enforcement agencies but decided to keep it for his collection.
He took the found grenade home directly on an electric train and later, after cleaning it of dirt, placed it on a shelf in his dormitory room.
The "black digger" also shared the results of his search work and the found trophy with his subscribers on social media.

The information reached the operatives.
An expert's conclusion confirmed that the found RG-42 grenade body is an ammunition suitable for causing an explosion.
The case has been handed over to the court.
