Foreign groom beat bride's 9-year-old son — criminal case opened
A criminal case has been opened against a 36-year-old foreigner, who lived with a Minsk woman and her son, for intentionally causing minor bodily harm. The woman tried to cover up the incident.
The story came to light accidentally. While the mother and her partner were preparing for the wedding, the 9-year-old boy was taken to his grandmother. It was she who noticed numerous bruises and hematomas on her grandson's body.
The child admitted that he was beaten by the "new dad." The man did not deny it and explained to investigators that back in May of last year, he hit the child at least four times with a belt for "bad behavior."
The child's mother tried to resolve the situation within the family and refused to file a report. Despite this, a criminal case was opened against the 36-year-old foreigner for intentionally causing minor bodily harm to a minor born in 2017.
