EU excluded Hungary from internal negotiations and secret information due to fears of leaks to Russia

Negotiations are conducted in several groups.

The European Union has begun limiting Hungary's participation in confidential meetings due to concerns that Budapest may be transmitting secret information to Moscow, experienced sources told Politico.

According to them, this has led to a "significant part of European diplomacy" now taking place in small group formats instead of general meetings involving all 27 EU member states.

Thus, negotiations are conducted in groups such as the EU3 (France, Germany, Great Britain), E4 (the same countries plus Italy), the "Weimar Triangle" (Germany, Poland, France), NB8 (eight Nordic and Baltic countries) and others.

The government of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has maintained close contacts with Russia throughout the war in Ukraine, European sources for The Washington Post previously reported.

They noted that the country's foreign minister, Péter Szijjártó, used breaks during meetings with representatives of other EU member states to call Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. Against this backdrop, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated that Orbán's representatives "informed Moscow in all details about the meetings of the EU Council."

"'We have long had suspicions about this. This is one of the reasons why I only speak when absolutely necessary and say only what is needed,' Tusk wrote on X."

I што ж там цiкава ў той Польчшы i Лiтве? Чаму ж так цяжка беларусам запiсацца ў вiзавыя цэнтры гэтых краiн i атрымаць вiзу, а на гранiцах даводзiцца стаяць па 24+ гадзiны?
