The European Union introduces a tax on small parcels from other countries
From July 1, 2026, a new tax will be introduced in the European Union on small parcels coming from non-EU countries, including Belarus. This rule will be temporary — at least until 2028, until a new system for controlling online trade is introduced, writes Infotrans Belarus.

The tax will affect goods valued up to 150 euros, as these are the purchases most frequently made in online stores.
The peculiarity of the new fee is that 3 euros will be charged not for the entire parcel, but for each category of goods separately. If a single parcel contains different types of goods or goods from different sellers, customs may consider them as separate items.
For example, if a person orders several inexpensive items — clothing, headphones, and cosmetics — even with a small total amount for the parcel, additional fees will have to be paid for each category. As a result, the cost of the purchase will increase due to these payments.
