A rare draft version of Bob Dylan's song "I'm Not There" was accidentally found in a book by American poet Allen Ginsberg, writes The Guardian.

The discovery was made by a bookstore seller — the draft was found in the pocket of the cover of the first edition of the book "Angkor Wat". This book previously belonged to Sally Grossman, the wife of Dylan's first manager and a close acquaintance of his. Ginsberg himself gifted her the book back in 1969.
The song was written in 1967 in New York with The Band but was not officially released for a long time. It only appeared many years later — including on the soundtrack to the 2007 film "I'm Not There".
It is believed that the draft remained unnoticed in the book for a long time and accidentally fell out when the seller was flipping through it.
This manuscript is now planned to be put up for auction. Its value is estimated at approximately 20-40 thousand pounds sterling (more than 50 thousand dollars). Experts consider the find a very rare working version of the song's lyrics.
In 2025, drafts of another famous Dylan song — Mr. Tambourine Man — were sold for more than half a million dollars.
