Head of hospital department wrote about "pissed-on alcoholics". How did the management react?

Aliaksei Hreitsar, head of the traumatology department of Kastsyukovichy Central Hospital, advised young colleagues in social networks to "not give a damn about their calling."

A young doctor from Kastsyukovichy Central District Hospital found himself at the center of a scandal after his comments on Threads.

Aliaksei Hreitsar, head of the polyclinic's traumatology department, allowed himself to make statements in public discussions that essentially questioned the necessity of providing medical care to certain patients.

For instance, responding to the story of a young man who described calling an ambulance for a drunk man with a head injury, he wrote: "You dumped a pissed-on homeless man on them and on the surgeons, well done hero." He also advised the guy to be grateful that "he wasn't pissed on himself." And added: "So take the pissed-on alcoholic home and nurse him."

In other comments, he used crude language, made harsh jokes about patients, called work at the polyclinic a "f***ing circus with rabid animals," and made offensive remarks towards women.

We called Kastsyukovichy Central District Hospital and, posing as a participant in the social media discussion, asked the management to comment on their employee's actions.

The head of the polyclinic, Iryna Pryvalava (Hreitsar is her subordinate), answered the call. Initially, the interlocutor noted that it concerned the employees' personal space. "We do not monitor the social networks of our employees. I don't quite understand what exactly happened?"

However, when we provided examples of his statements — about "pissed-on alcoholics" and the characterization of work at the polyclinic as a "circus" — the position changed.

"Yes, you are right, this is unprofessional and unethical," Iryna Pryvalava replied. "We will definitely talk to our employee, explain that such behavior is unacceptable. And not just talk."

At the time of publication, Aliaksei Hreitsar's account, from which the comments were written, had already been deleted.

The Central District Hospital website removed information about him as the head of the department.
