Trump fired the Attorney General. This may be related to the Epstein case
US President Donald Trump has fired the country's Attorney General, Pam Bondi. According to media reports, the decision was related to dissatisfaction with her work, including in the case involving the Jeffrey Epstein dossier, writes the BBC.

Bondi's deputy, Todd Blanche, who was previously Trump's personal lawyer, will temporarily serve as Attorney General.
According to sources from the Associated Press, Trump had been considering replacing Bondi for some time and even discussed the candidacy of Lee Zeldin, who currently heads the Environmental Protection Agency.
Trump's main claims allegedly concerned how Bondi handled materials in the Epstein case, as well as difficulties encountered in investigations against his political opponents.
Despite the dismissal, Trump noted in an official statement that he considers Bondi a good specialist and highly values her work.
60-year-old Pam Bondi is an experienced lawyer and a long-time supporter of Donald Trump. In 2011, she was elected Attorney General of Florida and became the first woman in that position. She served there until 2019.
In 2020, Bondi was part of Trump's legal team during the first impeachment attempt against him. At that time, the president was accused of abuse of power — specifically, allegedly pressuring Ukrainian authorities to open an investigation into Joe Biden, who was running for president. As a result, Trump was acquitted.
Until 2024, Bondi headed the legal department at the pro-Trump think tank America First Policy Institute.
After winning the 2024 elections, Trump nominated her for the position of US Attorney General. Initially, he considered another candidate, Matt Gaetz, but he himself declined due to scandals and investigations against him.
As a result, Bondi was confirmed by the Senate and took office in early February 2025. She served in this position for about one year and two months.
