The Iranian President announced readiness to end the war if the country's non-aggression is guaranteed. Masoud Pezeshkian made this statement during a phone call with the President of the European Council, António Costa. His words are quoted by the Iranian state agency IRNA: "We have never sought escalation and war, and we have the necessary will to end this war provided that the relevant requirements are met, and first and foremost - the provision of necessary guarantees for the non-repetition of aggression."
Pezeshkian also stated that Iran respects the sovereignty of other countries and had no intention of attacking them, "but, unfortunately, American bases are located in these countries, and attacks on us are carried out from their territory."
According to Pezeshkian, Iran entered into negotiations with the USA "sincerely and with a constructive approach," but "for the second time, directly during the negotiation process, it was subjected to illegal attacks."
