Transformer caught fire at Novopolotsk CHPP

In Novopolotsk, rescuers responded to smoke on the territory of the local combined heat and power plant.

11 units of special equipment worked at the scene.

A short circuit occurred in the voltage transformer. This caused heavy smoke, but open flames were avoided — self-extinguishing occurred, according to the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

As a result of the incident, no one was injured.

The exact causes of the short circuit are currently being investigated.
