In Poland, a person with suspected hantavirus was placed under sanitary control
The captain of the ill-fated liner is also Polish.

In Poland, one person is under sanitary control due to suspected hantavirus infection, said the country's chief sanitary inspector, Pawel Grzesiowski, Polish media report.
"The first Pole has been placed under observation due to suspected hantavirus: he may have been in contact with a passenger of the cruise liner, on board which the "Andes" virus is present. This is patient No. 2, who died after disembarking from the ship," the chief sanitary inspector reported.
The person under sanitary and epidemiological surveillance in Poland has no symptoms. The quarantine will last 7 days.
Pawel Grzesiowski also confirmed that one Polish citizen is on board the vessel. According to media reports, this is the captain, but he is not traveling to Poland yet.
