Property of Minsk Bearing Plant put up for auction

In Minsk, property of the Minsk Bearing Plant (MBP), one of the largest industrial enterprises in Belarus, has been put up for auction . The sale of the property is related to outstanding debts, due to which court bailiffs of the compulsory enforcement department of the Minsk City Executive Committee had previously seized it.

The bidding is organized through the electronic platform "BelYurZabespech. On sale are several real estate objects belonging to the enterprise.

The largest lot is administrative premises with a total area of more than 5.3 thousand square meters. Their initial cost is about 4.2 million Belarusian rubles.

In addition, premises of the engineering and laboratory building with an area of about 770 square meters are being sold. The starting price of this object is approximately 560 thousand rubles. This is essentially a separate building, constructed in 1970 and located at: Zhylunovicha street, 2/9.

The Minsk Bearing Plant already faced serious financial difficulties in the early 2000s. At that time, the enterprise accumulated significant debts, including as a result of cooperation with a Russian company. According to reports, the plant received bills of exchange totaling about 53 million Russian rubles, which later could not be presented for payment. As a result, the management of the enterprise during that period was brought to justice, and the case ended with trials and real prison terms for a number of defendants.

In recent years, the situation at the plant has improved. In 2023, the Ministry of Industry of Belarus reported an improvement in the financial performance of the enterprise and its break-even operation. This was facilitated by the plant's participation in Belarusian-Russian import substitution programs, as well as obtaining credit support from Russia.

The auction for the sale of real estate of the Minsk Bearing Plant is scheduled for July 21. It is currently unknown whether other objects of the enterprise will be put up for sale and whether the sale of property will affect the plant's production activities.
